“When will doubts about the contribution of the ceramics to the story of humanity end? When will our long history and the enormous importance of our hallmarks be recognized? But it turns out that apart from history we also have a prodigious present full of creativity which guarantees a promising future”
Antonio Vivas; art critic. Director of the magazine “Cerámica”.
Installation commissioned by the Museum of Ceramics of Barcelona for the exhibition in homage to Trinidad Sanchez Pacheco.
In this proposal I worked with traditional decorative ceramic elements from an ancient dish in the museum collection. Creating a new space where these elements take on a new dimension and escape around the museum. Two small elements repeated hundreds of times, sometimes getting free and escaping, joining tradition and contemporaneity.
Once the exhibit was disassembled, this sculpture became part of the museum’s permanent collection.
